I'm sure you have all seen the footage on the news of the Million dollar houses that are real close to falling into the ocean at Palm beach, the houses are only being saved by rocks that where compulsory to put there by the owners when they built the houses. I went down there this morning for the 10 o' clock Hi tide, the houses wont be there for to many years to come I don't think, unless they do something major. With the rising ocean and crazier storms that they predict, I cant see them lasting.
Froggies Beach was a foaming mess. There was tidal wave like foam walls rushing rite up wo the board walk. There was a fair few kids playing in it, makes you wonder what they are going to catch from it. Check out the Foam Barrel that 2 kids are in and also the last 3 shot sequence.
Snapper Rocks beach has been transformed yet again, the banks are shot and there is a fair bit of damage to the concrete steps etc leading into the beach. The foam looked like it was snow, definitely didn't look like Snapper. The light got really good in the arvo and produced a awesome sunset.
Surfers Paradise beach's were much the same as the rest of the coast, apart from up at Narrow neck and main beach where the erosion was like a 15 foot drop. It all looks pretty nuts. I got caught by the water a few times taking these pics, the water was going rite up to the eroded cliffs.
Currumbin was one of the worst hit beach's, the surf club car park is stuffed, the erosion up and down the beach is nuts, but on the upside there was some massive waves that guys were towing into and despite the wind there was some clean waves coming through.
